Nexus S Official

The thoroughly leaked Nexus S from Samsung and the successor of the Nexus One has finally been officially released. It will be available December 16 for $199 on T-Mobile two-year contracts or $529 off contract. It will (unfortunately) have only a 1GHz processor (not the mythical dual core) but will sport a contour (curved in) 4 inch Super Amoled screen as well as Google's latest Android flavoring (Gingerbread). Google has the official Nexus S page up and is accessible from the main page of Google, so you know its a big deal.

Dell Venue Pro

The King of Windows Phone 7 handsets is finally available on Dell's website. As you all know, the Dell Venue Pro is the definition of business and efficiency in a smartphone. The 8GB version costs a reasonable $99 with a new two-year contract on T-Mobile. (The 16GB version costs $149) We really hope this beauty of a handset gets exposure from other carriers as well.

Attention Windows Phone 7 Owners!

Microsoft has just sent out a warning in response to recent successful attempts to jailbreak and unlock Windows Phone 7 handsets. Don't even try to gain uncensored access and freedom to the phone you rightfully paid for. Listen to Microsoft. They're smarter than you. Windows Phone 7 was their idea.

iPad 2?

There are rumors spreading that the iPad's successor will launch in April 2011 with two cameras. Manufacturers have apparently already been chosen. Not much else is known (yet).
UPDATE: Reports are in that iPad 2 will have a higher res screen (Retina?) and more ports although a USB port is doubtful. As is a 7-inch screen.

Rumored : HTC Merge

The unnanounced HTC Merge was apparently found on Verizon's website today. It sports a lightning-fast 800 Mhz processor that is faster than the majority of 1 GHz smartphone processors. It also has a slide out keyboard and a quality design. No word on pricing or release date yet, if this thing even exists, that is.

Palm Pre 2 Available

The only device to run WebOS 2.0 and Palm's first device after being acquired by Hewlett-Packard is now available to order on HP's website. It is listed at $450 unlocked and will ship within 24 hours. For those of you not willing to spend $450, we suggest you to wait and see if it comes to any US carriers that will likely subsidize the price to a more affordable price point. From what we've seen WebOS 2.0 is promising, physically the Palm Pre 2 looks exactly like its predecessor, albeit with a new 1GHz processor. We do hope Palm comes out with something more high end soon.

Official: Dell Inspiron Duo

The Dell Inspiron Duo has finally been announced. It will be available the first week of December and converts from a 10.1" netbook to a tablet. It will cost $549 which will get you a Intel Atom dual core processor (N550), a 1366x768 high resolution screen, 2 GB of RAM, 250GB of storage and Windows 7 Home Premium (not Starter, that's for regular netbooks). It also has Dells' Duo Stage UI which launches automatically in tablet mode.

Windows Phone 7 Wrap-Up

All those new Windows Phone 7 handsets flooding your brain's capacity? We've made life just a bit easier for you. (All phones have a 1GHz processor and a 480x800 resolution)
Surround | HTC | AT&T - Available Now ($199.99)
The first phone to feature a slide out Dolby surround speaker. It also features a 3.8-inch screen for watching
movies with that slide out speaker. The speaker however, adds extra bulk and weight and according to
some, doesn't sound too great either.

Focus | Samsung | AT&T - Available Now ($199.99)
The thinnest Windows Phone 7 out right now, it is basically a replica of the Samsung Galaxy S running
Windows Phone 7 with a 4.0" Super Amoled display which is the best display you'll find on a Windows Phone 7 device.

Quantum | LG | AT&T - Available Now ($199.99)
The only Windows Phone 7 with a keyboard available right now, it also has a smallish screen at only 3.5". Due to this being and LG phone, you get 10 free apps from the Windows Marketplace.
HD7 | HTC | T-Mobile - Available Now ($199.99)
The the sequel to the Windows 6 running HD2, it features the same 4.3" display. It also has a built in kickstand for watching movies.Other than that, there's not that much that's special about this phone.

Trophy | HTC | Verizon - Early 2011 ($199.99)
3.8" tablet.
7 Pro | HTC | Sprint - Early 2011 ($199.99)
3.6" with slide out keyboard.
Venue Pro | Dell | T-Mobile - Early 2011 ($199.99)
4.1" with vertical slide out keyboard (Think Blackberry Torch except twice as big, beastly, and powerful.)

Rumored Nexus S

There is sufficient evidence that Samsung will manufacture the next Google phone, the sequel to the popular Nexus One. It will be called the Nexus S and will be similar to the Galaxy S line of phones but will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

HP Slate 500 for Enterprise

The long rumored, fabled and hotly debated HP slate has finally arrived! Unfortunately "Due to extraordinary demand" it will take six weeks for it to ship. If you do the math, it means it won't arrive on time for X-mas. If you can wait that long however, $799.99 will get you a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom processor, a 8.9 inch capacitive touchscreen (1024x768 very high res!), 2 cameras (VGA, 3MP), 64 gigs of storage, 2 gigs of RAM and a full-fledged desktop OS (Windows 7 Profesional 32-bit)

The Samsung Galaxy Tab

The first real iPad competitor is (finally) here. The Galaxy Tab runs on Android 2.2 Froyo and has a 7-inch diagonal screen size. Early adopters are satisfied even though Google has stated that Froyo is not fit for tablets and 2.3 Gingerbread is right around the corner. The Tab also sports two cameras and that Hummingbird processor found in Galaxy S phones. However, it does not have a Super Amoled screen. Pick one up at Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint for $399 on two-year contract or on AT&T for a $649 off-contract premium (there is no reason it costs $50 more). Early adopters and advice seekers leave your comments down below.
